Designating a new site for street trading

All sites for street trading whether on a market or a scattered site must first be designated for such use.

Designating a new site is a legal process we must follow before we can issue a licence.

Fees and how to apply

  • The fee is £1,400 and is non-refundable.
  • It takes at least six months to complete the designation.
  • Applications are subject to a full and comprehensive consultation. We consult local residents, businesses and other agencies including Transport for London and the police.
  • Once the consultation process is complete, the proposal then goes to the licensing regulatory committee hearing for a final decision.

Apply

We can't accept any applications to designate new street trading sites at this time.
