Post-16 choices
Young people who have completed Year 11 must now stay in learning until the end of the school year when they turn 18. This doesn't mean they have to stay in school.
The main choices are:
- a full-time course at a college or school sixth form
- work-based training such as an apprenticeship or a job with training
- part-time education or training if they are employed, self-employed or volunteering more than 20 hours per week.
