Older person's discount
If you are state pension age or older, you may be able to get £100 off your council tax bill.
If you are of state pension age, you could get up to £100 off your bill each year. If your bill is under £100, the discount will cover the whole amount so you won't have to pay anything.
To qualify you must:
- have to pay council tax from 1 April of the year you are applying for
- be 65-years-old or over
- be living in the property that is your main or only home.
What you will need
Make sure you have your council tax account number ready, as shown on your council tax bill.
