Young care leaver exemption
Information about council tax for Islington young care leavers under 25.
Islington care leavers do not have to pay council tax until they are 25 years old.
You will receive a blank bill as an Islington care leaver if you:
- are under the age of 25
- live in Islington
- claim the other council tax discounts you are eligible for, such as Council Tax support, single person discount or student exemption.
If you are a care leaver from a different borough and now live in Islington, please complete the care leavers’ relief form at the bottom of this page and send it back to us.
