Some online services unavailable on Saturday 23 November and Monday 25 November

Due to essential maintenance some of our online services will be unavailable over the next few days.

  • On Saturday 23 November between 9am–5pm you will be unable to view your council tax, council tax support and housing benefits accounts or documents while we upgrade our systems.
  • On Monday 25 November between 6–11pm our online parking services will be unavailable. During this time, you won’t be able to review or pay for parking tickets or buy parking permits or visitor vouchers.

We are sorry for any inconvenience while we carry out these necessary works.

Sell your property back to the council

Find out about selling your ex-council home back to the council and the benefits of selling to us.

We’re committed to increasing the amount of council housing in Islington and are buying back properties that were sold through the national Right to Buy scheme.

Benefits of selling to us

  • We’ll pay the full market value.
  • No chain (you don't have to wait for a buyer to sell first) and a quick purchase.
  • No estate agent fees.
  • More security than selling on the open market.
  • You’ll be helping end homelessness in Islington.

What we are looking for in your property

We are looking for properties that:

  • have 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms, especially 3- or 4-bedroom homes
  • are being sold with vacant possession (no tenants living in or belongings left inside the property)
  • the council holds the freehold on already or the freehold comes with the sale.

We’ll assess properties on our housing needs and how affordable they are before committing to buy them. Please note it is less likely street properties will be suitable due to their high market values.

Service charges and any outstanding and proposed major works that you have been notified of will need to be paid before completion.
