School Streets
Islington Council introduced our first School Streets in 2020, accelerating the programme in response to the pandemic. Our School Streets help to improve air quality, reduce road danger and create a safer environment for local people to walk, cycle and use buggies and wheelchairs.
We now have 36 School Streets covering 37 primary schools across the borough and have started improving the environment outside primary schools located on main roads.
