Drug and alcohol support for young people

Free, confidential advice about drugs and alcohol for young people aged 12 to 21 who live, study, or work in Islington.

Whether you need advice, honest information, or want to develop a plan to help you meet your goals, Islington Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service (IYPDAS) is here to help.

How we can help you

Our specially trained staff can give one-to-one support:

  • Getting to know you. We’re here to listen without judgement and understand how drugs or alcohol are affecting your life.
  • Figuring things out together. You’ll learn about what we do and the support we can offer you. We’ll look at where you’re at right now and figure out what kind of support you need. This is all about understanding you better, not just your drug or alcohol use.
  • Building a plan that works for you. We’ll work together to create a plan tailored to you and your goals. We’ll also explore the risks of drug or alcohol use and how you can take steps to reduce those risks.
  • We’re in this together. You’re not on your own. We’ll catch up regularly to see how you’re doing, celebrate your progress, and adjust the support if needed.

Where we can meet you

We can meet you in the place that is best for you and where you feel comfortable, such as:

  • Our offices
  • Your school or college
  • Islington youth hubs like Platform, Lift, Rose Bowl, or Zone.
  • Your home (in special circumstances)
