Transfer of premises licence holder

If you wish to take over a premises licence from its current licence holder, you will need to apply for a transfer.

Overview

When a licence is transferred, the terms and conditions of the original premises licence remain the same and must be complied with.

Before applying for a licence transfer, applicants are strongly advised to make sure that they are familiar with, and able to comply with, the terms and conditions of the licence. It is criminal offence not to comply with the licence conditions.

Written consent is usually required from the current premises licence holder to transfer the licence.

If you want to vary any of the licence terms and conditions after applying for a transfer of premises licence holder, you would need to apply for a separate variation to the licence.
