Paper and cardboard recycling

What paper and cardboard items you can recycle at home.

What you can recycle at home

Put these in your recycling bin:

  • newspapers, magazines and catalogues
  • cardboard cartons including foil-lined cartons
  • telephone directories and business directories
  • envelopes, including envelopes with windows
  • junk mail
  • office paper, including coloured paper
  • wrapping paper (only if it tears like paper)
  • books, both hardback and paperback
  • shredded paper
  • cardboard including flattened boxes. If large, flattened cardboard boxes don’t fit inside your container, stack them next to your container.
  • corrugated card
  • egg boxes
  • paper and card greeting cards
